Task 14: PUBLISH MY WEBSITE AND VISIT IT MORE THAN TWICE TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS WORKING PROPERLY. CHECK AGAIN IF ALL THE INFORMATION, PICTURES AND VIDEOS ARE RELATED TO MY TOPIC.


This task is the last task towards success. Today, I finally published my website and I am very happy. I was very scared and nervous when I was publishing my website. I was back home from Malindi before doing this activity as I needed fast internet to publish my website. After publishing, I checked if the content of my website is clear, easy to understand and related to my topic. Fortunately, everything was perfect. Before publishing, I asked an elder (my mom) to go through my website and she pointed out quite a few grammatical mistakes and I had to correct them before publishing my website. After correcting the mistakes and making sure everything is perfect, I clicked on the publish button, it asked me to write the domain name. I a domain name which would be easy to remember  as this was one of my design specifications. After choosing the domain name, there was a warning. It said " your website contains a few elements of weebly pro (which needed payment) which will not be published in your final website." I knew which weebly pro element I had used. It was the search box. So this meant, the search box will not be published with my final website. I was very depressed and sad as I wanted to follow my finaldesign. But I had no other option and had to continue publishing my website without a search box. But I am very happy that my website was published successfully. 
To make sure this problem of the search box or problems like that, do not occur again,I will go through all the elements or options available and then decide the elements that my final product is going to contain. But overall, this task went on quite smoothly and I enjoyed doing this task. I love my website!

TASK 13: CHECK IF THE PICTURES, VIDEO AND THE INFORMATION IS RELEVANT TO MY TOPIC ON PAGE THREE AND CHECK IF VIDEO IS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. 

Today I went through page three and checked if all the pictures, videos and the information is relevant to my topic. I also checked if the video works properly. I realized that the website looks very attractive and appealing. Page three was organized and neat. All the pictures, video, and the information was fully relevant to my topic. Except for a few grammatical mistakes, everything was perfect. I had a lot of fun doing this task as I love going through everything, looking for mistakes and doing the final touches of a product! I did not face any challenges while doing this task and enjoyed it. The internet speed in Malindi is very bad. But fortunately, this task did not need fast internet connection and I managed to finish it on time without any major problems. According to the plan, I was supposed to take half an hour, to finish this task. Today, I took around half an hour to go through everything, correct mistakes and check is everything is functioning properly. Task 12: CHANGE FONT, HANDWRITING  AND COLOR OF THE WRITING AND THEN INSERT PICTURES AND UPLOAD A VIDEO. 

i like changing the fonts, styles and colors to make it more attractive. I also like looking for pictures and videos for my work. For this task, that was my job, look for pictures and videos and change the font, style and color of the writing. 
But this time I could not enjoy this task at all as we had to family outing to malindi. I carried my laptop and my design so that I could still follow the plan. But the problem was that I could not get access to fast internet which was necessary for this task. This task needed fast internet as I needed to upload a video, pictures and information. This issue really frustrated me and I was really annoyed. But I had no other option but to continue. This task was meant to take half an hour, according to my plan and it did. I took half an hour completing this task. I could have managed to finish it in 15 minutes if I had fast internet! other than this I had no other challenges. But in my opinion, this task was torturous for me. The screenshot of the final look of page three is below:

Task 11: REPHRASE THE INFORMATION INTO MY OWN WORDS AND TYPE THE INFORMATION ON THE WEBSITE



This task was a very easy task as I did not have to rephrase the information and just had to write on my website. I did not have to rephrase the information because while I was researching, I had automatically rephrased all the information into my own words. So this reduced the amount of work that I had to do today. I usually do not like rephrasing researched information, but this time, I had done it unknowingly! According to my plan, this task was meant to take 2 hours and it did take 2 hours, even though I did not have any rephrasing work. I took 2 hours to do this task, as the internet was very slow. This was a very straightforward task and did not need much thinking. I just had to copy past the researched information onto my website. But overall I am satisfied with the work I did today and I enjoyed it a lot. The screenshot of today's work is below:

TASK 10: ORGANIZING PAGE BY ADDING TEXT BOXES, SEARCH BOX AND IMAGE BOX

Today, I had a lot of fun organizing the last page of my website, using text boxes, a search box and image boxes. I also had to find a way to put a Youtube video on this page and I found an option for that. I had expected to find an option where the video could be played without loading, but that was only available in weebly pro which was not free. But I was contented to at least find a Youtube option for my video. According to my plan, I was supposed to take around 1 hour to finish this task but I took only 15 mins to do this as it was very easy and I had done it for the previous page. Since I had done it for the previous page, I knew the options that were available on this website. This page looks similar to the previous page as I am using the same format and I am not using the column option as it did not work out for the previous page. So this means I have learnt lessons from my past experiences! There was no problem with the internet and it was quite fast. So, I did not face any challenges during this task and frankly, I enjoyed a lot! The screenshot of how it looks after organizing is below:

Task 9- Researching about the sub topics on the second informative page (third page) 

Today I researched about the sub topics on the second informative page (third page) and I enjoyed doing this task. I also looked for a video on Youtube which is related to my topic and for the picture I was supposed to insert on this page. The picture I got, showed a confused person and  3 options beside the person saying " Yes, No and Maybe". I modified this picture from " Yes, No and Maybe" to " Indian, American and none", using paint. I also got a video about Indians discriminated in American as they follow and practice a completely different culture. I did not face any challenges during this task and enjoyed researching about how this issue can be solved and interviewing an ABCD. I used my investigate stage to get a few important points about how to solve this issue and the interview of an ABCD (my client) as I had already conducted the interview during the investigate stage. Fortunately, the internet connection was much better compared to the internet connection I had during the previous research for the first informative page. According to my plan stage, I was supposed to take 2 hours to finish this, but I finished it in around 1 hour 15 minutes as it was quite easy since most of the information was in my investigate stage. This task went on very smoothly and I enjoyed researching about the sub topics as my research skills have improved very much since last time. The screenshot of my research in below:

Task 8- GO THROUGH THE EVERYTHING ON THE FIRST INFORMATIVE PAGE (SECOND PAGE)

Today, I went through everything on the first informative page (second page). I went through the pictures, information and checked if they are easy to understand, organized and most importantly, related to my topic. I always love checking if everything is good enough to move on to the next task and I enjoyed doing this task. I did not face any challenges and it was easy and fun to go through everything. According to the plan, this task was meant to take half an hour and I took around 25-30 minutes to finish this task. So the time predicted during the plan was quite accurate. I enjoyed doing this, but there were a few grammatical mistakes that I had to change. Other than that, this task was fun to do and I like the final look of the second page. The screenshot of the final second page is below:

TASK 7- Changing the information into planned fonts, handwriting and colors.

Today I changed all the information I had, on this page into handwritings, fonts and colors. I had expected this task to be very easy, but unfortunately, it turned out to be the most difficult and frustrating task I have ever done till now. It was difficult and frustrating mainly because of the slow internet connection. A small picture was taking around 5-7 mins to upload on www.weebly.com. I got very annoyed during this task. During the plan stage I had expected this task to take half an hour, but this task took up to two hours for various reasons. 

Slow internet connection. This issue was the main issue why this task took that long. Due to some connectivity issue, this task (which was supposed to take half an hour) took around 2 hours to complete since pictures were taking very long to upload and saving the current work also took around 7-8 mins. 

Outings. As mid term was going on, sudden outings were expected. Our family, and I went to our friends house for lunch at 12:00 (the time I was supposed to do this task). So I had to move the time to 5:00 to 5:30 (due to obstacles, 5:00-7:00) and I was very frustrated as I wanted to follow my plan very strictly. 

Lack of proper planning. In task 5, I mention that I had found a column option which made my website more organized an easy to make. Unfortunately, this column option did not work as well as I had expected it to. The problem was that I had put the information in paint and  then upload it as an image in weebly, and the image appearing on weebly was very small. If I made the image bigger, then the  space for the picture would reduce. This obstacle really frustrated me. I wanted to start afresh and I did it. I deleted everything on that page and started all over again. But this time I did not use the column option. I put the information and the picture below as this looked more organized and the information was also readable. This depressed me a lot, since I wanted to follow every single detail of my final design. 

So these, were the challenges I faced while doing this task. Frankly, I did not enjoy anything while doing this task.  The screenshot of my blank page and my final page (second page) is below:

Task 6- CHANGING THE INFORMATION COLLECTED INTO MY OWN WORDS AND TYPE IT ON MY WEBSITE

Today I changed the information I collected into my own words and typed it on my website. This task was not as easy as I thought but nor was it very difficult. I had expected this task to take 2 hours but to my surprise it took only 1 hour. The research I had done was mostly in my own words except for a few sentences that I had to change. So today I only changed a few sentences from my research and wrote them on my website in plain handwriting and normal color. The task of changing the research work into my own words was a little difficult. I always face difficulties while doing this but eventually I am able to do it as I think over it a lot and take some help from my parents. Other than this, I did not face any difficulties and enjoyed doing this task. The screenshot of this task is below:

Task 5- organize page

Task 5- Organize first informative page (second page) by adding text boxes and search box. 

This task was very easy and I enjoyed it a lot! In this task I just inserted text boxes, a search box and an image box. I faced a very minor challenge throughout this task. The minor challenge was that I wanted to follow every detail of my final chosen design which I thought was not possible. I wanted to write the information for each sub title and have an image right beside it which I thought was not possible, before I came across an option  called "columns". I clicked on that column option and there was a column on that page where I could add text on one side and an image on the other side! JUST WHAT I WANTED!! It was a very minor challenge that I could easily solve. I had another challenge that I have mentioned earlier. The search box problem, but I used the same older method to solve it. But I am not yet sure if that solution works or not. Everything else went on very smoothly and I had no other problem . I am very happy that I found a way to follow every single detail of my final design for this page. I took around 25 minutes for this activity, while I had expected to take 30 minutes. But it is quite close! Task 4- Research - I will research about each sub topic, in detail and collect all the information needed for the first informative page. 

Today I researched about the sub topics on the first informative page (the second page) and I am very satisfied with my work that I did today because I researched in detail and I also went through my investigate stage as there were a few interesting points in it that I could use for this task. I did not face many challenges while doing this task and everything went on smoothly. Task four was a very easy task as it did not involve thinking skills but involved research skills. The minor challenge I faced was the internet connectivity problem. The internet was extremely slow and irritated me many times.
 Researching for the first informative page took less time than expected. I expected this task to take up to 2 hours but I realized that it took only 1 hour. I researched in detail but the information that is going to be written on the website is very summarized as there is very limited space for information. This was another challenge, since I wanted my information to be very clear and understandable. But this obstacle limited the information I was supposed to put in my website. But I tried my best to make information clear and easy to follow and hope that it is actually understandable. I did not face any problem for researching as I am used to it and I enjoyed researching a lot. The screenshot of my research in below:

Task 3- WRITE A SHORT DESCRIPTION AND ADD LINKS OF THE SUB TOPICS OF MY                                                                             WEBSITE

Today, I did the third task according to my plan stage which was writing a short description and adding links of the sub topics of my website. Today I also added the picture for the homepage. I did not face any challenges while adding the links and inserting the picture since this was a very easy task. But I faced a major problem while writing a short description of my website. According to my final design I was supposed to write this introduction in Papyrus, font 13 and color blue and weebly.com did not have an option to change handwriting, font and color. I was confused, but soon found a solution for this problem. I opened paint and wrote the introduction in the handwriting, font and the color of my choice and pasted this document as an image on my website and in my opinion it looks fabulous! For the introduction of my website, I wrote my problem description as I thought that would be the most suitable for an introduction. The screenshot of task three is below:

                                                                ORGANIZE HOMEPAGE USING TEXT BOXES AND A SEARCH BOX     

Today, I organized my homepage using text boxes and a search box. During this task, I did not face many problems and everything went on smoothly. The only challenge that I faced while doing this task is that there was a big confusion while inserting a search box. While I was trying to insert a search box, it asked for payment. I had not noticed this demand while I was including this specification to have a search box. But there was another option saying try it out and when I clicked on that option, I could insert the search box, thought I am not sure if it works! If it does not work then I might have to look for an alternative or write this problem that I could not solve, in my evaluate stage. Inserting text boxes in their respective places is very easy, so I did not face any major problems while inserting them. This task was very easy and I enjoyed doing it.

First Task ( SIGN INTO WEEBLY AND CHOOSE A BACKGROUND )

                                          SIGN INTO WEEBLY AND CHOOSE A BACKGROUD

Today I signed into weebly and choose a background that I had designed during the design stage. I chose the design which looked similar to the one I drew during the design stage. I choose this background because I wanted a colorful and an attractive one. Fortunately I found a template that looked exactly the same with the final design that I chose. For this activity, I took 15 mins to sign in and choose a template, instead of half an hour. I had planned to give half an hour for this activity in case of any sign in problems, which are often faced!  I faced no challenges while doing this first task.
